FAQ: FAQ

Will reflexology help me?

Reflexology is an individual experience, with the treatment being tailored to suit you as a whole person, taking into account physical and non-physical factors that might affect your wellbeing. As per my professional code of conduct and ITEC training, I do not claim to cure or diagnose disease. However, there may be areas of sensitivity or 'crystals', also referred to as congestion or tension. This may mirror the corresponding part of the body. The theory is that reflexology helps the body restore it's balance naturally

This non invasive complementary health therapy can be effective in promoting deep relaxation and wellbeing and can be used alongside standard healthcare

How should I prepare for my first treatment?

If you have never experienced reflexology before, you may be a little nervous prior to attending your first treatment. You can always ask me about any concerns before you come.

I  recommend that you ensure you are free from infection, fever or acute illness and are well hydrated with water before attending. It is advisable to avoid caffeinated drinks and alcohol in the 24 hours prior.

What should I expect from my first session?

On your first visit, I will take a thorough health and lifestyle consultation. This will involve noting any medication you take, recent operations and illnesses and your reasons for trying reflexology. This enables a bespoke reflexology treatment plan.

With a picture of your current state of health, I'll explain how reflexology may help you, examine your feet and/or hands. You will be assisted to recline in a wonderful zero gravity chair or onto a couch. A fresh lightweight blanket to snuggle under and you're all set to go.

You will never be asked to undress for reflexology. The only clothing to be removed is socks and shoes. Its best to wear loose comfortable clothing.

What happens during a reflexology treatment

Your treatment will begin with a gentle relaxation massage of the feet or hands, followed by applying pressure to each of the reflex points, finally closing with a relaxing and balancing routine.

You may wish to close your eyes and relax during your treatment, or you might prefer to chat, this entirely up to you.
